Men can be crafty?

We went to a model railroad show with the boys. The local group has a whole building full of model railroad displays. Not only have they rigged the place with colored lights to simulate day and night, but they have seriously gone all out in their design. I was just amazed of the amount of minute details that were painstakingly rendered (lots and lots of glued on moss!). There were several replicas of Portland landmarks like the Union Station. They also had built several of the surrounding areas. My favorite was a group of sunbathers on the Columbia river. It made me laugh out loud.

The star of the show was a diesel train pulling the full line of Thomas trains. Towards the end of our visit that train went into a tunnel and we were told that it was going to come out on the other side of the room. We waited for what seemed like an eternity to me, but the boys would not leave until they spotted it and watched it roll by. They were giving away magazines at the exit and both boys have cherished theirs ever since.
